This article is dedicated to Jas Waters (Jas Fly) a prominent journalist and writer on the hit show “This is Us” who committed suicide just before the quarantine was lifted. Jas was a successful Black woman who was at the height of her career. On the outside looking in, it appeared that life for Jas was good. She was financially stable, receiving notoriety for her work, and seemingly happy and living her life. Yet, and still, she had an internal battles that she succumbed.

Things you shouldn’t say to someone suffering from anxiety and depression!

Anxiety disorder is the most common mental illness in the United States, affecting about 40 million adults per year. It’s not unusual for people who have anxiety to also suffer from depression, and vice versa. The most common form of depression is Major Depressive Disorder- which affects roughly around 16.1 million adults.

Some of us suffer from both anxiety and depression when major life altering events occur, such as losing your job, death, a break up, and even your family expanding. The bag!

On the internet, it seems like everyone’s goal is to get to the bag- which is a great thing! We can’t eat, pay bills, or live without getting a bag.
