Colorism and nappy hair

GOOD AND BAD HAIR VIDEO CLIP FullSizeRender

COLORISM IS STILL A THING! Unfortunately we have Black celebrities making negative comments about the richness of chocolate skin! We have to hold everyone accountable. It’s a hard lesson on thinking before you speak. Not to mention that it is extremely important to dig deep and educate oneself on why a person has those types of feelings. Eva of #RHOA constantly makes distasteful comments about skin color and hair texture. Then she back pedals when called out on her nonsense!

It seems Eva may have been taught that her lighter complexion makes her beautiful and/or better than women that dont look like her. What kills me is that she is always talking about being vibrational and picking up on energy yet her energy seems to be all wrong! Her thought process on and about Black people seems to be on an extremely low vibration.

By Eva referring to other Black women as “Nappy heads,” it reminded me of Howie Mandal touching Gabrielle Union’s hair as an episode of the show was ending. As we all know Gabrielle has been let go of #AGT! What we now know is that the show has a racist toxic environment! We now know that #nbc felt as if Gabrielle Union was being “too Black” due to changing her hairstyles! The constant obsession with the hair of Black women is overwhelmingly uncomfortable! Especially since so many other ethnicities and/or races are constantly trying to replicate our cultural hairstyles of choice. Not to mention styles that were created to protect and care for our hair!

*WHAT I FORGOT TO MENTION IN THE VIDEO!
I forgot to mention that Emily Pompeo took a stand by publicly supporting Gabrielle Union, but she also called on other White women to do the same! It seems that she understands that White women cant be on the same side as Black women if our issues arent taken seriously and addressed by those who are supposed to be our allies. Always remember that White silence is equivalent to White acceptance! Yes, it may be an uncomfortable conversation but it’s necessary!

Thanks for reading and watching!
