Being your own boss

Entrepreneurship has been on the rise for the last 3 years. Everywhere you turn, you see someone opening up a business- even if it’s just an online business. There are memes all over the place encouraging people to exit their 9-5’s to become entrepreneurs. “Do what you love and get paid for it,” is a popular slogan that’s often viewed via social media. There was also a post that said something along the lines of “we congratulate people that get new jobs, but don’t congratulate those that start their own business.” Shouldn’t both be congratulated and celebrated, though? I watched President Obama address the crisis in Syria on December 16th, 2016. The press kept asking him if he was planning to help President-Elect Trump with such matters as Syria before leaving office. They also asked numerous questions about Trump and also, if President Obama believed that the outcome of the election were due to the Russians hacking the system (This matter is being investigated by the CIA currently). Scandalous Reality..

Olivia doctor

Did you all watch the last episode of Scandal? My mouth literally dropped to the floor as Olivia proceeded to the clinic to have an abortion. All while Mellie stood in the middle of The Congress floor for 16 hours in order to guarantee funding for Planned Parenthood. There are so many groups that are against Planned Parenthood not realizing that only 3% of the organizations business are actually abortions. Planned Parenthood has been viewed under a microscope since a clearly edited video was leaked accusing the organization if illegally selling fetal issue. It’s safe to say that today Planned Parenthood’s efforts are geared towards Women’s health. Mainly helping to prevent sexually transmitted infections and diseases. Continue reading “Scandalous Reality..”

It’s not ok for Rachel Dolezal to play Black!

imageMany people are saying that no one should be upset or mad that Rachel Dolezal is claiming to be Black. The supported reasons that I’ve seen posted are: “Black people wear weaves!” “Some black people do skin lighting treatments… or wear light makeup to alter their appearance.” (Black skin and make-up selection history is a whole new discussion). There is so much to be concerned about everyday. Mothers and Fathers are concerned about their children, employees may be concerned about their future with their current company, or maybe they’re considering entrepreneurship. Life and the world around us are constantly changing.

Welcome to the 1960’s!

Welcome to the era when the FDA approved birth control (1960). It’s when the Vietnam war officially began (1961). President Kennedy was assassinated (1963). A time when the KILLERS oops I mean the Nation of Islam suspended Malcolm X (1964). The Civil Rights Act to stop discrimination was also signed and passed by Congress in 1964. Malcolm X was assassinated by the same group he was suspended from on the first day of National brotherhood week (1965). In 1968 President Nixon was elected,Robert Kennedy, and Martin Luther King jr. were both assassinated (Really, American Government?). Neil Armstrong walked on the moon in 1969.

Comedy or Tragedy? Men dressed as Women…

imageWhen I was growing up, one of my favorite TV shows was MARTIN. Martin played many characters throughout the show, and two of his characters were women (Mama Payne and Sheneneh). I always thought they were both hilarious. It really was a funny show, and in fact, many people still watch it to this day.

imageKaty and Ken are on their third date. They are enjoying cocktails and conversation at a popular steakhouse while waiting on their meals to arrive. Ken has been the leader of the conversation, introducing all of the topics. Ken is surprised that Katy knows some information on the majority of the topics that he’s mentioned.

Stupidity and the Internet…

I bet you thought common sense was something that many people possess.  Then, the issues you thought were obvious were displayed on the internet, and the people you thought you knew and understood proved you wrong. I can’t begin to tell you how often I had to take a step back and say “Are you serious?!” or “Do  you really believe that?!” Now, I can honestly say that many comments, posts, meme’s , etc no longer surprise me.  Some of them are disappointing, but not surprising.
